    El grupo centra sus investigaciones en la mejora del conocimiento de la biología y ecología de las poblaciones pelágicas y demersales, en especial las explotadas comercialmente. Para ello realiza estudios sobre la biodiversidad marina, la evaluación de recursos y su variabilidad temporal, sobre los descartes y el impacto pesquero de las distintas flotas, estudia el reclutamiento, el crecimiento, la determinación de la edad y los parámetros reproductivos de las principales especies explotadas, aborda la ecología del ictioplancton y en especial la supervivencia y crecimiento de las fases larvarias de pequeños y grandes pelágicos, el estudio de redes tróficas pelágicas y las influencias de los factores ambientales en los ecosistemas y sobre la biología de las especies.

  • Descriptión (English):

    The group focuses its research on improving the knowledge of the biology and ecology of pelagic and demersal populations, especially on exploited stocks. The group studies marine biodiversity, assessment on fisheries resources and their temporal variability, discards and the impact of the different fishing fleets, recruitment, growth, age determination and reproductive parameters of the main exploited species. It also addresses ichthyoplankton ecology and especially the survival and growth of larval stages of small and large pelagic species, their role in the pelagic food webs and the influence of environmental factors on ecosystems and on the biology of species.
