    El grupo centra su actividad en el modelado de los ecosistemas marinos demersales del Mediterráneo Occidental y los efectos de las perturbaciones naturales (forzamientos climáticos e hidrodinámicos) y antropogénicas (principalmente la pesca) sobre su estructura y dinámica. Sus investigaciones están dirigidas a la gestión del medio marino, especialmente por lo que hace referencia a la conservación de la biodiversidad y sostenibilidad de sus recursos vivos en el contexto actual de cambio climático y sobreexplotación pesquera, a partir de la recogida de información científico-técnica y la elaboración de evaluaciones y predicciones fiables. Además, desarrolla actividades de transferencia de conocimiento y tecnología al sector público y privado, necesaria para mantener y mejorar la actividad productiva y los servicios de los ecosistemas marinos a la sociedad.

  • Descriptión (English):

    The group focuses on the modelling of demersal marine ecosystems of the Western Mediterranean and the effects of natural (climate and hydrodynamic forcing) and anthropogenic (mainly fishing) disturbances on its structure and dynamics. Its research is aimed at the management of the marine environment, especially as concerns the conservation of biodiversity and sustainability of living resources in the current context of climate change and overfishing, from the generation of scientific and technical information and developing reliable assessments and predictions. The group also undertakes the transfer of knowledge and technology to the public and private sectors needed to maintain and improve the productive activity and services of marine ecosystems to society.
