Resumen:

This is a proposal for implementation of the DG Mare project on Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) in the Atlantic, including Celtic Sea and Bay of Biscay. It has been prepared by the University of Liverpool, UK, and the Directorate General for Marine Policy, Portugal, in collaboration with other project partners, as detailed below. The proposal is entitled Transboundary Planning in the European Atlantic in order to reflect the specific focus of the project. The project will deliver a commonly-agreed approach to cross-border MSP in the European Atlantic region, which will be trialled in two distinct geographical and political contexts, linked by their shared regional identity, and will provide detailed recommendations for the evaluation of cross-border MSP.
