    El grupo de investigación ¿Ecosistema del Golfo de Cádiz¿ aglutina las líneas de investigación oceanográfica llevadas a cabo en el Golfo de Cádiz por el Centro de Cádiz del IEO. Abarca aspectos físicos, tales como el flujo de Agua Mediterránea en el Atlántico, y biológicos como la composición y variabilidad espacio-temporal del plancton (zooplancton e ictioplancton), y las comunidades y hábitats estuarinos, pelágicos y demersales. A lo largo del tiempo, este grupo de investigación ha ido evolucionando desde la tradicional evaluación de recursos marinos de interés comercial a tomar una visión más comprehensiva, que está contribuyendo al desarrollo de un manejo integral del ecosistema

    The ¿Gulf of Cadiz ecosystem¿ research group comprises the several lines of oceanographic research conducted in the Gulf of Cadiz by the IEO-Cadiz laboratory. It addresses physical features, such as the flow of Mediterranean water into the Atlantic, and biological aspects such as the composition and spatio-temporal variability of the plankton (zooplankton and ichthyoplankton), and the estuarine, pelagic and demersal habitats and communities. Over the years, the research group evolved from having the assessment of commercially important marine resources as central task to a more comprehensive view, which will eventually help the development of an integrated management of this ecosystem
