Biología, comportamiento y ecosistema de peces altamente migradores del sistema epipelágico oceánico (túnidos y especies afines, grandes tiburones pelágico-oceánicos y otras especies). Las investigaciones son herramienta para la pesca responsable y atienden estudios sobre biología y tecnologías, incluyendo a sus ecosistemas y factores ambientales. El enfoque ecosistémico es objetivo de este grupo. Se trata de investigaciones multidisciplinares para el conocimiento dirigidas hacia su aplicación social. Se pretende estudiar las pesquerías de mayor interés económico-social en la UE, sus ecosistemas y cambios derivados de procesos naturales y/o la presión pesquera, la contaminación. Se realizan estudios sobre la selectividad de las artes sobre las especies objetivo y no objetivo, incluyendo descartes y otros aspectos relacionados. Biology, behavior and ecosystem approach of highly migratory-epipelagic fish (tuna and tuna-like, large pelagic sharks and other species). Investigations are tools for responsible fishing, covering biology, technology, ecosystems and environmental factors. The ecosystem approach is objective of this group. Multidisciplinary research is directed toward knowledge for its social application. We cover studies on fisheries with high socio-economic interest in the EU, its ecosystems and changes resulting from natural processes and / or fishing pressure, pollution, etc. Studies are also performed on gear selectivity on target and non-target species, including discards and related aspects.
