The IEO has a nation-wide network of offices and research centers, comprising:

• Headquarters, in Madrid including its management and administrative offices.

• Eight Oceanographic Centers, in:

  • Santa Cruz de Tenerife
  • La Coruña
  • Málaga
  • San Pedro del Pinatar (Murcia)
  • Santander
  • Vigo (Pontevedra)
  • Gijón

• A fisheries biology laboratory, in Cádiz.

• Four marine culture plants, in :

  1. El Bocal (Santander).
  2. Mazarrón (Murcia).
  3. Vigo (Pontevedra).
  4. San Andrés (Santa Cruz de Tenerife).

• Thirteen tide-recording stations distributed along the spanish coastline.
