El grupo de Geociencias Marinas (GEMAR) está formado por investigadores titulares y técnicos, licenciados contratados y becarios predoctorales que desarrollan su actividad investigadora en los Centros Oceanográficos de Málaga y Cádiz. El planteamiento global de su labor científica se concreta en líneas de investigación que están dirigidas al conocimiento de la dinámica sedimentaria marina, la evolución de los procesos geológicos, la paleoceanografía y el registro geológico de los cambios ambientales, los geohábitats y sus comunidades biológicas asociadas, o sobre la ecología y biología de organismos bentónicos y demersales. El grupo está integrado en numerosos proyectos de investigación, nacionales e internacionales, donde se usan diversas técnicas geofísicas y geológicas, así como bentónicas, sedimentológicas y geoquímicas. -
Descriptión (English):
Marine Geosciences Group (GEMAR) is composed by senior researchers and technicians, post-graduates and graduate students that develop their research activities at the Oceanographic Centres of Málaga and Cádiz. The overall approach of their scientific research focusses on addressing the knowledge of marine sediment dynamics, the evolution of geological processes, paleoceanography and the geological record of environmental change, geohabitats and their associated biological communities or on the biology and ecology of benthic and demersal organisms. The group is involved in several national and international research projects using a set of geophysical and geological techniques, as well as benthic, sedimentological and geochemical analyses and techniques.
